Thursday's 9am-1pm

The early weeks with a newborn can be a blur - beautiful, overwhelming, and full of questions. That’s why we have created this clinic, offering a welcoming space for new parents needing guidance, reassurance, and expert care.

Run by Endorsed Midwife Allie, all appointments are bulk-billed. She is able to complete referrals, pathology requests and prescriptions related to your postpartum, reducing the number of appointments you may need with other providers.

After your first appointment, you can call Midwife Allie any day of the week (weekends included) from 9am to 5pm, at no extra cost  to you. Our aim is to expand the accessibility of quality midwifery care to everyone in the community who needs it.

We look after both MUMS & BABIES, unlike regular child health clinics and work out of a beautifully renovated allied health space, so we are around no sick people.
  • What do people like about doing this class?
It is full of practical demonstrations so you can practice exactly as you would be doing this in labour and birth. There is loads relevant information delivered in an eternatining way with discussion, interactions, games, physical demonstrations and group activities. The class content is adjusted specifically for your needs to each class is slightly different. You also get a detailed take home resource that keeps you going after the class.
  • Can I be added to the waitlist for classes?
Yes, if there is a date you're interested in and there are no spaces available please use the contact me section to let me know and you can be added to the waitlist. Please note that sometimes the waitlist can get long so we can't always guarantee you will get a space in the class. Check out our other class options, or set up a private class with me at home or online.
  • Where is the postnatal clinic or antenatal class?
The Bulk-Billed Mums & Bubs Drop In Clinic is at Maia Mothers, Ascot. Open Every Thursday 9am-12pm, no appointment needed but registering is welcome to guarantee a place. The antenatal classes are nearby our clinic at Day1 Fitness in Hendra. A great open space with air-con and local coffee shops.
  • What do I learn in the class?
So so much! It's such an in-depth class that covers all the important topics. It has information on BOTH birthing and the postpartum period, including breastfeeding. Plus loads of info on how to be a great support person and evidence-based information to help you make decisions. So many couples who have attended have commented on how much content we cover. Check out the "What You Learn" section on the home page for more details. If you have something specific that you want covered, we tailor every class to our clients needs to simply let me know and we can accomodate. I want to teach you what you need to know!
  • I am not sure which class I need, what I should do now that I am pregnant or where to even go from here? Help!
You are not alone. We know this feeling all too well and are here to support you at this exciting time in your life. But diving into pregnancy and birth can seem daunting. Set up a free 15 minute consult with Midwife Allie to help guide you in the next steps of what you need to do. She can help you set up a supported and well-informed pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey so you can release your anxiety and nervous energy to make room for feeling capable and confident. Even with your first baby. We are here for you.
  • Should I attend a class even if it is not my first baby?
For sure! Every birth and baby can be so different. The more informed you go into birth, the better outcomes you can expect. Doing a class can help if you had a difficult previous birth and wish for a better experience this time around. It's also super relevant if it is your partner's first baby - they are your biggest supports and secret to success so they need to learn the confidence to be capable support people.
  • Should I attend the class if I have a planned induction?
Most definitely! This might be even more relevant for you and your partner to make sure you can get the most out of your birth experience with a planned induction. Induction does not mean you have to throw all of your birth plans out the window. You can still have an empowering and epic birth experience that you look back on with joy.
  • Are these classes relevant if I want a VBAC?
Absolutely! An evidence-based education class is one of the best ways to get informed for a successful VBAC. We tailor each class, private or group, for each of our clients. So make a note when you book about what you need to learn to make sure we give you all the info you need to know.
  • What if I birth before I have been able to attend a class?
If you book a class before 37 weeks and have a preterm birth before this, then you can receive a full refund. Please reach out to me and provide evidence of the birth. You don't need any added stress to a difficult situation and deserve kindness and support.
  • What if I can no longer attend the scheduled date for the class I booked?
If you provide at least 28 days notice then you can reschedule to a different class free of charge. If you need to reschedule after this time there is a fee involved. This is due to agreements with our vendors requiring confirmation and attendance information, which leaves us out of pocket if you're then unable to attend. As we are a small business we can't afford to be out of pocket for an entire attendance. I appreciate your understanding. Please reach out if extenuating circumstances apply to you.
  • Is the price of the class per person or per couple?
The price of the class is per couple. Yep, just one fee for you both to attend! I aim to be as transparent as possible, so there are no hidden costs when accessing my care. That is the lowest private antenatal class in Brisbane, and I don't compromise on the content or ongoing support. It is slightly longer than a lot of other classes to pack in all the important info you need. If you have an additional support person or student midwife supporting your journey, reach out, and we can see if we have enough room to fit them in too! I am about empowering people to be the best birth supports and don't gatekeep knowledge that can help you have a positive birth experience.
